Design Product Engineer
Do you want to work for a leading global electrical manufacturer? We have an exciting opportunity to join our clients' egineering team. Aim: to produce mechanical contract/special designs and adaptations of the Company's LV distribution products using 3D CAD, create related BOM's and production documentation
Pay Rate and Hours of Work:
GBP25k - GBP35k depending on experience
37.5 hours per week
2 weeks paid training

Free parkingRequirements:
Minimum HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to electro mechanical engineering/manufacturing.
Experience using a 3D CAD modelling package, e.g Creo Parametric.
Ability to create accurate 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings.
Ability to maintain accuracy of output on short lead times.
Experience / interest in monitoring systems.
Knowledge of principles of mechanical engineering so able to assess the feasibility of the design options.
Knowledge of principles of electrical engineering and ability to read electrical drawings so able to assess the requirements.
The ability to edit/create electrical schemes and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD would be preferred.
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to the products and components to be manufactured to enable these to be incorporated into the design.Responsibilities:
Reviewing the customers' requirements to ensure they are mechanically, electrically and technologically feasible and to assess the implications for manufacture.
Design technical solutions using the company's 3D modelling system, to produce mechanical models & layout drawings of the equipment (for possible assessment) by internal /customer technical departments.
Compile bill of materials for input into the companies MRP system.
Generate adaptions to existing designs as required ensuring that the written information and drawings produced are accurate and easily understood.
Assist the production departments when issues arise during the manufacture/assembly of equipment to ensure they are resolved efficiently, minimising potential delays and cost implications
Liaise with the Contracts Engineering/Technical departments when any issues arise, so that the customers' expectations are managed
