This industry leading company are seeking a Component Engineer to be based in Eastbourne, this department serves all five Vacuum Technique Divisions: Scientific, Industrial vacuum, Semicon, Semicon Service, Vacuum Technique Service. Eastbourne specialises in the design and manufacture of Electronic Controllers, Drives and Instruments for use within the company's vacuum products.
They currently require a Component Engineer to join their rapidly expanding R&D department. It's very important that you have full product lifecycle development experience. In this role you will be part of a small team, taking products from concept to prototyping / manufacture.
Key Responsibilities for the Component Engineer job will include:
-Review and approve all component applications
-Support Hardware Engineers in component selection
-Act as a point of reference and contact for component issues for both engineering and component suppliers
-Work closely with H/W to define and implement a series of tests to verify that new and replacement components are fit for purpose
-Evaluate new sources of components
Skills and Competencies for the Component Engineer job will include:
-Digital electronic hardware background
-Understanding of both RoHS and REACH
