CDS is on a mission!

We are looking to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor to join us with offering a resolution-focused surveying service, providing excellent service at every stage, enhancing our reputation as a good landlord.

Delivering a high level, comprehensive technical surveying function, incorporating diagnosis, specification, commissioning, supervision and communication in order to maximise effectiveness and financial performance, you will provide excellent customer service to residents and internal stakeholders with an emphasis on quickly and effectively resolving complex repairs or voids.

We champion co-op and community-led housing where people design, develop, build or manage their homes themselves. We aim to make this a mainstream option for both rent and home ownership. To that end, we are investing in people and partnerships that can help us make this market fly.

We currently support about 40 co-ops that house more than 2,200 households by providing or overseeing a variety of housing management services and back-office administration functions under instruction from our clients. We are also a social landlord, providing housing management to our own residents living in nearly 1,000 properties.

A relevant professional qualification, preferably RICS or CIOB membership, is essential for this role, coupled with previous experience as a building surveyor. Well organised and highly productive, candidates will have experience producing technical reports, appraisals, measurements, costings and estimates, you will have a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for your work and commitment to collaborative working with colleagues, suppliers and residents.

Our company values are building trust by being reliable, working as one team, acting with purpose, caring about the impact we have on people and always showing kindness. These values drive everything we do, and we expect the same from you – meaning you will need to consistently meet expectations.

In return, we offer a contributory pension scheme, 28 days holiday + bank holidays, health cash plan, an employee perk system and up to a 10% annual bonus.
