Mechanical Development Engineer
Leeds
Days ( Monday to Friday )
Our client, a large manufacturing business based in Leeds have an immediate requirement to recruit a well versed Mechanical Development Engineer.
Main Duties
• Commissioning of production machines - both internal and external including occasionally oversees
• Developing and improving existing machinery
• Fault diagnosing and finding solutions to a wide range of engineering problems
• Working closely with the design team, sharing ideas and concepts
• General engineering tasks such as machining and welding etc
• Training of production engineers/operators during hand over of machinery
• Support production/maintenance engineers when required
• Develop engineering improvements and systems in line with the company's objectives
• Innovation of springs and other products within the bedding/comfort industry.
Key Skills
• An Engineering background (ideally apprentice trained) with a minimum of 2 years' experience
• Experience building/running machinery
• Good bench fitting skills
• Experience using workshop tools and machinery (eg: Miller, Lathe & Welding)
• Electrical experience/qualifications would be advantages
• Experience with springs/coilers or wire industry would be advantageous
• IT awareness and application
This position is a permanent vacancy where you will be expected to work a regular day shift Monday to Friday ( 6-2 or 7-3 ). In return you can expect a highly competitve salary dependant on previous experience.
