Due to continued business success and growth, we now looking to recruit a Construction Manager to join our team at our Portsmouth office. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.

Your New Role

A Construction Manager is to be responsible for delivering, to the Project Manager, the construction phase of projects and associated documentation to meet safety, quality, programme and cost objectives.

Must have an excellent knowledge of the construction industry, with previous supervision or management experience. Must have worked on multiple residential refurbishment projects and knowledge of building regulations and permitted development. Must have a good understanding of all elements of the building industry from the ground up. Ability to multitask and prioritise works are a necessity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safe working practices on site
  • Write/review and implement RAMS policies
  • Maintaining quality control and ensuring high standard of workmanship
  • Regular meetings with Site Forman and ensure projects are on schedule
  • Regular meetings with Project Manager and implementing two week 'look ahead' on each site
  • Monitor use of materials and ensure enough materials are on-site to not impede works
  • Co-ordinating and managing site safety and carrying out periodic inspections
  • Ensure that architectural drawings and building specifications are being followed
  • Monitoring progress against the issued programme
  • Motivating the onsite team
  • Managing sub-contractors and site labour in their daily activities.
  • Ensures that all on-site Health and Safety standards are applied and all accident reporting procedures followed
  • Meetings with Building Control and relevant authorities
  • Ensure construction best practices are adhered to
  • Snagging various trades work
  • Maintain up to date site information, diary/register and all paperwork for periodic inspections
