Position : Shift Leader
Sector : Manufacturing/Engineering
Location : Leicester
Salary : GBP27,500
This candidate will become a key member of the operations management team, reporting into the senior leadership team.
Main duties:
??Management of labour, equipment and materials to optimize production output and achievement of plant KPI's.
??To lead, facilitate and drive continuous improvement activities i.e., Kaizen/LEAN improvement teams.
??By leading through example ensuring good practice, adherence to company procedures whilst achieving production targets.
??To promote a safety culture plant wide by ensuring employees are aware of their responsibilities of themselves and others whilst in the workplace.
??Develop, motivate and engage teams (Group Leaders, Supervisors and Operators) through training and building strong employee relations whilst ensuring best practice across the three shifts.
??Full responsibility for training from identifying needs, procedure adherence to delivery of training. Forward planning to ensure we are able to react to changes in capacity demand.
??Ensure shift follow quality procedures in support of ISO/ OHAS standards, adherence to all standard operating procedures to minimise quality issues.
??Communicate and work on a daily basis with all supporting departments; planning, purchasing, customer services, warehouse etc. Ensure good communication with the other team members and Group Leaders
??Ability to make decisions, often without being able to consult with other Managers or supporting departments
About you:
??Degree, diploma or equivalent experience relevant for the role.
??Minimum of 5 years' previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment at supervisory/management level.
??Strong leadership skills and previous experience of leading a large team of employees.
??Excellent communication skills with an ability to demonstrate strong people management skills.
??Strong health and safety knowledge coupled with knowledge of production techniques and processes and the ability to deliver organisational KPI's.
??A proven record of identifying and developing future talent
