We are recruiting for our steel and aluminium supplier client based in Saltash.
The position of Assistant Branch Manager is a new role within the busy, expanding organisation. The successful candidate will support the Branch Manager to ensure smooth running of the branch.
The main duties and responsiblies include:
• Ensuring all staff are working to best of their ability and fully occupied.
• Advising manager of any issues or problems as soon as they occur, so they can be dealt with accordingly.
• Dealing with customers quotes and enquiries promptly, using the price structures available, but using initiative when necessary to provide a competitive quotation, with prior authorisation.
• Taking orders and following them through to make sure stock is available or ordered.
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers, in response to your customer's requirements
• Ensuring staff are correctly trained and records of training are documented.
• Implementing systems to improve customer service.
• Booking and keeping records of machinery and equipment servicing and repairs. Making sure vehicle checks are carried out correctly and vehicles are kept clean.
• Ensure that Health & Safety is being complied with and all work areas are kept tidy.
• Stock takes, ensuring stocks are correct and notifying of any shortages or issues.
• Covering trade counter and warehouse when necessary.
• Any other duties reasonably requested.
The successful candidate would also have management experience and a forklift license or experience.
The working days are 7.45 am - 5.00 pm Monday - Friday plus any necessary overtime. The company offer 28 days holiday including bank holidays
