We are looking for skilled, semi-skilled, and trainee Boning Hall Butcher to join Guildford Primary team in Surrey, Southeast England. Located just 27 miles (43 km) southwest of central London, this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone keen to begin or continue their career in the food industry.

You’ll be playing an important role in ensuring the business is supplied with the best quality beef & lamb, so you’ll need to show you have initiative, a passion for learning and teamwork, combined with flexibility around working additional hours when required to deliver for our customers, some of the nation’s favourite supermarkets and restaurants.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim and prepare beef/lamb material to standard defined for relevant stage in production process eg saw/split carcasses, prepare specific meat cuts

  • Remove bones and cut meat to customer requirements

  • Ensure strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes

  • Follow traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times

  • Drive and deliver necessary processing efficiency through consistent and correct equipment operation

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or

  • Willingness to learn in semi-skilled/ trainee roles

  • Good communication

  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction

Hours of work – 48 hours a week Monday – Friday. (6.45 am until production finishes)

Pay rates staring on £480 a week unskilled and £540 a week for skilled.

Upon passing probation and with development/increase in skill level, the salary will increase further.
