The post of Trainee Field Service Engineer (Mechanical with an understanding of electrical Connection and fault finding) will appeal to an Engineer who is keen to move into Field Service work where you will be trained to maintain CHP Engines at three commercial grower sites on the Essex/Hertfordshire border. You will receive training on the CHP Engines but you will need to have acquired mechanical engineering experience to date, perhaps in a Maintenance role.- or perhaps you have completed an apprenticeship as an HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician or in another Engineering discipline and wish to train in a new field.

If you have a positive attitude, a genuine enthusiasm for Engineering and an unquenchable thirst to learn, this could be the role that you have been seeking.

Highly organised and self-motivated, you are someone who can adopt routine procedures and who has an attention for detail.

Once trained, you will perform the following duties:

• Routine servicing of equipment, including gas engine, generator, CO2 Catalyst and heat recovery systems.
• Breakdown repairs.
• Fault finding on equipment.
• Identification of parts required to resolve fault issues.
• Completion of Record Documentation and Job Sheets.

The Trainee Field Service Engineer will report to the Service Manager and respond to company remote Service Desk and will be able to communicate well at all levels, with Directors, other work colleagues, suppliers and customers.

An engineering qualification or completion of an engineering apprenticeship is strongly desirable in a Mechanical discipline and you should have a full clean driving licence and be computer literate, being competent in the use of Excel/Word/Outlook.

A competitive initial salary of GBP26000-GBP28000 pa will be offered rising significantly with training and with a further GBP6000 pa earned through payments for on call standby duty and overtime payments on out of hours call out. (There is a requirement to enter into a weekend call out rota although issues can often be resolved remotely via laptop without the need to visit site).

Full time hours are 8 per day, normally 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Holidays are 25 pa plus statutory and the client contributes 3% to the employee's 1% for Pension.
A company funded van and mobile phone is also provided as well as any specialist tools.
