As of 2021 we have been announced one the best medium size companies to work for. Due to continuous growth, we are looking to recruit a Hardware Test Architect to design and overview test activities.

The Hardware Test Architect will be reporting to the Hardware Development Manager and working within the Test Engineering team alongside the Design Development teams. The key task is to design, coordinate, deliver and own the Pico Production Test Solutions for both internal and external use. This will involve the design, development, evolution, implementation and maintenance of Pico's existing production test system from both a Hardware and Software perspective
Key tasks
• Design, develop, present and substantiating their test solutions to the Line Manager
• Support Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs) on a routine basis and especially during New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Occasional technical presentations and guidance to others
• In a systems, hardware/software or component environment, carry out analysis, design activities development and testing.
• As part of Pico's quality function, work closely with other departments such as Hardware Design Team, Software Driver team, Sales, Operations and CEMs to deliver optimum production test & Calibration solutions
• Train & support Operations staff & CEMs as required on the use and operation of Pico's test system(s)
• In conjunction with the Hardware and Software Development Managers, coordinate the test engineering team's work packages in accordance with the New Product Development process
• Regular formal progress reporting
• Ensure all test systems are at the correct build standard and 'in-cal' with traceable certification
• Coordinate and develop product Calibration certificates with key stakeholders as required
• Statistical test data analysis and monitoring on a routine basis to ensure Quality compliance
Skills Required in the role:
• Degree in Electronics Engineering or relevant discipline or experience within hardware testing, NPI and electronics design
• Thorough understanding and proven experience in developing test methods for production test/calibration
• Understanding of metrology and the application of test solutions to traceable standards
• Hardware (60%) and software (40%) awareness
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Appreciation of the relevant design drivers and associated manufacturing issues
• Technical team leadership skills
Desired Skills:
• Electronic product design experience preferred from within 2 or more of the following areas: mixed signal, rf, analogue, digital, software and/or firmware design
• Use of CAD/CAE tools
