Research Scientist (Neuroscience)

About the role:
The role is ideal for someone who has strong demonstrable experience in; cell culture, microscopy and molecular skills from postdoctoral or industrial roles and is seeking a long term opportunity to develop. This role will involve assay development work for drug discovery purposes and will require a combination of in vitro/ ex vivo/ in vivo research tasks.
Ongoing training will be provided where necessary.
Required experience;
* MSc (minimum) or PhD degree in neuroscience or relevant biological subject
* Ideally some research work experience post-study (industrial work experience an advantage)
* Strong cell/ tissue culture skills are essential!
* Strong experience with microscopy and some molecular biology techniques are essential!
* Candidates should have experience carrying out ex vivo analysis
* Knowledge of CNS research and in vitro modelling would be highly desirable
* Any understanding of gut-brain axis or microbiome research would be a great advantage!
* Experience with in vivo models/ PIL Home Office License would be great but can be trained
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
