Our client is an international manufacturing organisation, listed on the London Stock Exchange. Due to ongoing investment in new technology and manufacturing processes they are seeking to appoint a Ceramics Process Improvement Engineer (Group level - Ceramics Technical Manager).
Reporting to the Group Projects Director the position takes responsibility for a wide range of strategic projects on kiln and ceramic processing improvements across a number of sites in the Midlands region.
Knowledge of kilns, ceramics and thermodynamics is highly desirable.

Major role in a key project to support our decarbonisation aims in kiln drying and firing processes
Understanding the impacts of the project on the drying and firing processes, associated equipment and the product around ceramics and kiln performance
Generation of Technical information/documentation on process related to the project
Working with third party suppliers on the development of the project
Essential qualifications
HNC or above in clay, ceramics technology or materials sciences, ideally degree qualified
Knowledge of Drying & firing / kiln / refractory processes
SPC knowledge desirable
Excellent planning and organisational Skills
Desirable
Six sigma, although training will be provided
Project experience, although training will be provided
