Teaching Assistant / TA with special needs experience required for "Good" school in Newcastle.
A large special needs school in Newcastle is looking for a Teaching Assistant / TA to start in September 2021. The school caters to children aged from 3 to 19 years old who have special needs such as Autism and PMLD. A portion of the students who attend this school can display challenging behaviour so the successful Teaching Assistant / TA should be comfortable in this kind of environment. The school offers fantastic support and additional training is available.
This is a full-time position with the possibility to become permanent.
To be part of this team you will ideally need to have:
A minimum of 6 months experience in a special needs school
Previous Autism experience
Experience supporting students with PMLD
Experience in either primary or secondary
Experience providing personal care
Experience managing challenging behaviour
A friendly and caring personality
