The Opportunity
In this role you will have full management of the Hygiene Department delivering a clean and hygienic bakery by maintaining high standards and effectively utilising people and resources. An example of some of the areas of responsibility include:
* Management and achievement of Key Performance Indicators in relation to hygiene efficiencies, microbiological, customer service, cost control, people, quality and health and safety through continuous improvement.
* Managing and updating policies to ensure compliance
* Enhance the Health and Safety Culture across all colleagues
* Ensure the safe use of chemicals at all times
* Manage, train and develop a team to ensure optimum effectiveness and efficiencies and address any skills gaps
* Ensure that the external yard and all waste areas are maintained in a safe, controlled and hygienic manner at all times.
The Right Person
You will appreciate the need for high standards within this area of food manufacturing and will be motivated towards continuous improvement, working collaboratively to achieve this. In addition we are looking for:
* Good level of English, Maths and IT skills
* Intermediate or advanced food hygiene qualification
* Good understanding of HACCP
* 2 years plus hygiene management experience within a food manufacturing environment
* Experience of working with diverse teams and a responsibility for managing people related matters
* COSHH qualification and good understanding
