The job
As Technical Manager, the purpose of your job is to manage and continually improve food safety, legality and quality management and maintain these standards in line with BRC, customer requirements, UK legislation and due diligence.
Key duties:
* Ensure product safety, quality, legality, and relevant brand/fresh produce quality standards are maintained throughout the supply chain and site operation.
* Continually improve, develop, and update the HACCP system to ensure the HACCP plan is working correctly.
* Maintain & develop the company QMS and ensure that they are always "Audit ready".
* Onboarding new suppliers and conducting supplier and product risk assessments to ensure effective food defence.
* Manage customer and supplier visits and audits, meeting BRC, Organic & Demeter standards.
* Support, manage and mentor the technical team ensuring all staff are suitably trained.
Your experience
We are looking for an individual with solid quality assurance or technical management experience within food manufacturing (ideally 5 years +).
Ideally educated to a degree level in food science or food safety discipline, you will demonstrate excellent knowledge of food safety requirements and leading BRC Audits (essential).
You will also be an experienced people manager. You will currently be looking after a team of 8, however due to the company's success, your team size will increase.
Additional qualifications such as HACCP, Food Safety, Food Hygiene, Internal Auditing etc. are all highly desirable.

The Technical Manager job is based in West London and is paying GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 according to experience.
The package includes benefits including 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension scheme, discounted products and working in a small and friendly team.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 5 pm.
