Due to new business, a leading accountancy firm is recruiting for talented Bookkeeper to join the busy outsourcing team at the firm's Oxford office. You will have exposure to a range of clients within various sectors, be guided by an experienced Line Manager, receive a good remuneration package and benefits and work within modern offices with a supportive team.

As Bookkeeper providing accounting, compliance and reporting support to clients, your main responsibilities will include:

* Building relationships and liaise confidently with clients and internally

* Preparation of monthly & quarterly management accounts

* Bank reconciliations

* Extracting information from clients' books and records to enable simple Income and Expenditure Account to be prepared

* Prepare manual control accounts e.g. bank, cash, sales ledger & purchase ledger

* Prepare & submit VAT and related returns

* PAYE/NIC/wages

* Extract summaries from client's books and sub-analyse where necessary

* Calculate accruals, prepayments and depreciation

* Post from working papers to a nominal ledger and extraction (usually via computer) of a trial balance

We welcome applications for those with the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Solid understanding of all aspects of bookkeeping within a practice environment

* AAT qualified or QBE - minimum 3 years' experience

* Strong IT skills specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly

* Experience in using Xero and/or CCH would be an advantage

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output

* Create a positive impression with clients and staff

* Enthusiasm to face new challenges and learn new skills

* Enjoy working as part of a team, very self-motivated and highly organised

This role could possibly be based at the firm's London office and there is potential for remote working for the right candidate, although attending the Oxford office is preferred.
