Our product range comprises of clay bricks, Thermalite blocks, aggregate blocks, Red Bank chimney, roofing and flue systems, precast concrete and flooring products and Formpave permeable paving.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in the position of PEDAX Operator/Steel Fixer at Somercotes.
The Role
Including but not limited to:
- This position will provide support within the production team and operate production processes to ensure that all health and safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets are met.
- The role holder will play an active part in the production and delivery of:
- Cut and bent rebar on PEDAX machine according to Bar Bending Schedule;
- Assembly units according to the manufacturing drawings;
- Support the daily production in any capacity for which he has been trained for;
The Candidate
The role holder is expected:
- Bar Cutting and Bending (awareness of British Standards and Euro Code limits);
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings (Specifically Bar Schedules and Shape Codes);
- Angle Grinder/ Abrasive Wheels trained;
- To have good effective communication skills;
- To have the ability to manage a varied workload;
- To have a good problem-solving skill;
- To have the initiative to work without supervision or as part of a team;
- To have had similar role/experience;
- To comply with all aspects of the Forterra Compliance Policy;
- To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place;
- To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation;
- To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required;
- To comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company;
Qualification/ Education:
Educated to NVQ2 or equivalent (desirable)
