Our client is a human resources consultancy based in Edinburgh with over 23 years of HR, Employment Law and recruitment experience.

Their early year's clients are seeking Play Practitioners for their breakfast and after school childcare settings in the Lothians / Edinburgh.

They are looking for energetic, dedicated, and inspirational staff for breakfast and after school childcare settings.

These Play Practitioners plans, prepare and deliver programmes of imaginative and innovative activities that deliver an exceptional experience for every child, every day.

Their clubs run Monday to Friday. Start times are 7.15 to 9.15 am for breakfast clubs and 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm for after school clubs.

Responsibilities and duties are as follows :

  • Practice full understanding of the Care Inspectorate Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of conduct and legislations.

  • Assist with the overall administration of the setting, keeping relevant records and ensuring that the agreed club procedures are implemented.

  • In consultation with the manager, plan a varied programme of activities suitable to the needs of the young people.

  • Engage in continual personal development for staff in the setting.

  • To have a sound knowledge of child development and be able to respond to

  • children's individual needs.

  • To work as part of a team within the setting and be able to establish good and effective relationships with the children, parents, staff and identify potential community partnerships.

Skills and Experience :

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience.

  • Effective verbal communications and experience in a customer facing sector.

  • Ability to work independently with excellent time keeping, organisation and communication skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate by example with pride in personal appearance and professional practice.

Salary negotiable depending on experiences.
