We are presently recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to join our Award-winning Health and Safety Team.

Primarily supporting our Highways division, your projects will include a variety of regional civil engineering and highways infrastructure contracts, with sites located across the Midlands.

Reporting to the Highways SHEQ Manager, duties include:

* Support the delivery of Dyer & Butler's policies, objectives and procedures.

* Work proactively with the site teams to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and customers.

* Carry out audits and inspections conducting safety conversations providing coaching, guidance and mentoring and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

* Act as an ambassador for the company in relation to health, safety and well-being.

* Implement the requirements of the Company Management System (CMS), as applicable to the business operations.

* Advise and guide all personnel working on projects with regards to the implementation of the SHEQ policies and procedures.

* Work with all managers and staff to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed as necessary and if required to assist with their preparation.

* Support the managers/directors in the production, review and implementation of the relevant project management plans / construction phase plans and project SHEQ documentation.

* Undertake monthly site SHEQ inspections and assist the site teams with closing out issues that are identified during inspections and audits

* Undertake accident and incident investigations as appropriate and identify preventative measures to stop similar accidents from occurring again.

* Support the operational teams during handover and planning meetings to ensure that SHEQ issues are properly represented and managed.

* Carry out relevant training, briefings and toolbox talks to promote suitable SHEQ standards throughout the company.

Due to the complexity of projects that we work on, we are keen to receive applications from candidates:

* Professional Qualification in Safety- NEBOSH General or equivalent.

* Tech IOSH and working towards GradIOSH desirable.

* CSCS Card

* Knowledge of the requirements of safety/environmental legislation. .

* Excellent communication skills.

* Accident/ incident investigation experience

* Experienced & familiar with working in Civil Engineering / highways and safety critical environments.

* Desire for self-development and continuous self-improvement.
