The purpose of the Business Intelligence Analyst (OD SQL Lead) is to support the Business Intelligence Manager in developing business intelligence methodologies and tools related to insight, reporting and data visualisation across the Organisational Development function of the Torus Group
The post holder will assist in the developing engaging and insightful reporting and dashboards whilst working to maximise the value of the OD data warehouse in delivering high quality automated reporting to increase the organisations ability to self-serve.
This is an important role in which you will:
- To support the development of comprehensive performance and information management systems in line with internal and external customer requirements.
- To develop engaging reporting dashboards and insight using SQL and Power BI to visualise key information.
- To produce documentation and detailing of the logic used in the development of scripting including the building of the logic around these reports.
- To identify and assist in ensuring business data quality and integrity is high across the core Business Assurance system and the OD data warehouse.
- To work with teams and other stakeholders in assisting to develop appropriate information and measurement systems for their service areas; ensuring defined measures are in place in relation to workforce and other OD concerns.
- To support and constructively challenge performance data to assist in delivering business insight which drives improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of current business intelligence tools in order to improve data manipulation; ensuring presentation of performance meets user requirements and reconciles.
- Develop effective processes for maintaining the quality and integrity of performance reports, ensuring that data reconciles and is presented in a user-friendly manner.
- Assist in managing performance information across the Group ensuring its consistency and robustness.
- To work with the business to ensure a regular review of performance measures, reports and systems to ensure that we capture, record and utilise information most significant to the monitoring of our corporate and operational priorities.
- The post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the role as directed by the relevant Head of Service.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a track record in the advanced use of SQL.
- Have experience of using Microsoft tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- A sound knowledge of SQL databases, data warehousing and Business Intelligence
- Comprehensive experience and knowledge of performance reporting
- A track record in interrogating and interpreting information.
- A track record in the analysis of complex data and scoping reports with an attention to detail.
- Have experience of producing Power BI dashboards to convey BI & MI to internal and external audiences
- Have experience of working with OD/workforce data to improve reporting and insight
