Devon and Somerset Fire Rescue Service are looking to appoint an HR Operations Manager to lead their HR team at their Head Quarters in Exeter

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is the largest non-metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service in England. We provide prevention, protection and response services across the counties of Devon and Somerset. Our vision is that together, we will work to end preventable fire and rescue emergencies, creating a safer world for you and your family. About the role
The HR Operations Manager is a key role within the HR team as people are our most important resource. The role leads a team who deliver front-line support to managers and employees, delivering a range of timely and accurate HR advice, information and training on the full range of HR matters. The role is significantly important as we are currently delivering an HR transformation to embed HR best practice that creates and adds value to the delivery of the service's objectives and performance.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation and applicants should have:
* Experience of implementing and leading significant organisational change.
* Proven skills in communication, diplomacy and consultation in an HR environment.
* Good organisation and prioritisation skills
* To be customer focused with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, trade union representatives and service providers.
* Previous experience of working as a senior HR generalist
* Previous experience of successfully leading and managing teams
* Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development
* Good working knowledge of current employment law and an ability to apply it in the Fire Service environment
