The College is recruiting for Learning Support Assistants who will be required to deliver the highest quality of education, care and preparation for life for students with an Education, Health and Care plan and those with SEN(D).

You must be able to contribute to the whole college’s planning of activities - with an emphasis on delivering the curriculum through to employability. The objectives of a Learning Support Assistant will differ according to the individual requirements of each student.

The tasks of a Learning Support Assistant will fluctuate, however typical responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students with an EHCP on a 1:1, small group basis
• Providing targeted support outside of the classroom
• Working on differentiated activities with groups of students
• Liaising with the Learning Support Manager to deliver SEN provision and ensure statutory EHCP reviews are arranged and recorded.
• Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual need)
• Working with lecturers to monitor progress of students

Having a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring, and previous experience of working with students on the Autistic Spectrum, or young people with Special Educational Needs, or Specific Learning Difficulties would be advantageous.

We have two vacancies:

Vacancy 1: temporary role for 24 hrs p/week (term-time) - £9,628 - £9,801 P/A

Vacancy 2: permanent role for 30 hrs p/week (term-time) - £12,036 - £12,251 P/A

In addition to your salary, you can expect an annual leave entitlement of 29 days (pro rata for part-time), plus Bank Holidays and additional College closure days over the festive period.
