My client currently is currently looking to hire a Caretaker on a permanent part time contract (25 hours per week) starting from 6th September 2021. The role offers a Pro Rata Salary of 13,799.
Within the role you'll be responsible maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility and ensuring the building and grounds are in proper working order.
Responsibilities include:
* Carrying out building check and carrying out minor repairs as needed, contacting specialists where required (e.g. Electricians)
* Ensuring the premises and grounds are kept clean and tidy, removing rubbish and carrying out other measures where necessary (e.g. gritting in icy weather)
* Carrying out regular security checks, ensuring surveillance equipment is monitored and kept in good working order
* Managing supplies on site and their related budgets
The ideal candidate:
* Good awareness and knowledge of COSHH issues, health & safety legislation, electrical safety, CYC procurement/contractor lists and waste disposal procedures
* Practical skills including knowledge of handheld power tools, manual handling techniques, locksmith techniques and boiler maintenance
* Strong communication skills and a good team player
* Highly organised and self-motivated, able to organise and oversee own workload effectively
* Able to creatively approach and solve issues on site
