This highly sophisticated and innovative manufacturing company are a market leader and have a significant presence within the UK. The company has an impressive level of growth and profitability and are enjoying further expansion of their dynamic business.

We are looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead on all aspects of the production, including all aspects of Health & Safety to improve site standards and greater efficiencies. You will clearly have an accomplished background in production manufacturing, leading entire departments with a high level of integrity to influence teams to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities

* To supervise up to 10 staff and support all operational activities on site to ensure targets relating to Production, Quality, Health and Safety, are met.

* Deputize for the Site Manager during periods of absence and take the lead on all site activities.

* Lead on the development and implementation of quality procedures and to drive a continuous improvement culture across the manufacturing processes.

* Manage the production teams to ensure that target output, OEE and Efficiency targets are being achieved and improved.

* Cost Control - Manage overheads and associated costs to ensure budget targets are achieved.

* Play a key part in delivering Operational Full Potential - focus on the continuous improvement process and root cause analysis.

* KPI Achievement - lead team to achieve the Production Performance levels.

* Manage the Maintenance engineering team to ensure the highest levels of planned maintenance for all machinery.

* Develop skills and competence of production team to deliver site results via performance management processes, including ongoing coaching and communication.

* Take a proactive approach to compliance works and safety improvement projects within the Production area.

* Support Safety Champions to ensure all H&S audits and risk assessment reviews are completed on time.

* To challenge, mentor and coach people and challenge process and practices within the factory

* To objectively assess own teams performance and develop improvement plans, continuously improving our processes and way of working by initiating Continuous Improvement meetings and programmes

The successful applicant will preferably have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques: 6s, Six Sigma, SMED and Kaizen Models. It is essential that you are highly competent in manufacturing/automated processes and preferably will hold an engineering related qualification. In addition you will have a good understanding of Health & Safety principles and be able to articulate this being applied in practice.

A counterbalance Forklift licence or experience of forklift driving would be an advantage.

You will be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and be able to work cross functionally with plant staff and management.

For success in the role you must be a team player, with an ability to be flexible as part of a fast-moving focused organization. The ability to take ownership of a situation and act autonomously is crucial and meet production deadlines.

Excellent working hours to accommodate a healthy work life balance 7.30am - 4.30pm

This role is a fixed Term Contract for 3-6 Months
