The Role:

We have an opportunity at our chemical distribution site in Coventry (Nuneaton) for a Deputy Operations Manager, the site is 24/5, fast paced and distributes 3,000 tons a month into the South of the Country. Following a 12-month network consolidation, the site has grown significantly with a number of changes to the distribution model.

We are looking for someone to join the team to take the lead across our Warehousing and Administration functions. As well as delivering the daily objectives, we are keen to stream line processing and would be looking for this role to deliver a full review and simplification of present processes.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

+ Line Management responsibility for Warehouse Manager and Administration Manager with a reporting line of 20 colleagues.
+ Leading the team through the daily objectives, ensuring resource is in line with daily volumes, key tasks are assigned and milestones throughout the day are achieved through the team.
+ Reviewing processing, identifying bottlenecks/re-work and leading the team through a serious of process reviews and delivering the change required.
+ Ensuring best in class stock management principles are in place and adhered to and that the 2 million pounds of inventory is well managed. The site has 3,000 plus pallet spaces and a review of storage/layout is underway and support for this would fall into key responsibilities.
+ Reporting into the Site Operations Manager you will be responsible for updating against daily objectives and presenting process improvements as well as deputizing during periods of holiday and absence.
+ Developing a working relationship with the Regional Transport Manager to ensure that warehousing and administration processes dove tail into transportation processes.
+ Ensuring that our core guiding principle of ‘Serious about Safety’ is translated at the coalface and delivered in everything we do.

We Are Looking For:

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to influence, inspire and motivate others to reach higher standards and performance. You will be customer focused, have excellent numerical, analytical and computer skills. You will have the ability to work under pressure, delegate tasks and get the very best from the team. Experience of SAP would be an advantage, as would previous experience with RF/barcoding. Qualifications/experience of lean processing/continuous improvement models is a necessity.
