Role: Philanthropy Officer
Salary: GBP21-23k
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid/Flexible Working)

Competency and Personal skills:
*Exceptional communication skills with ability to relate & establish a rapport and credibility with a range of people.
*Excellent written and presentation skills
*Self-motivated and flexible, able to manage a busy and varied workload
*Proven organisational skills, strong administrative skills, is efficient and able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
*Strong attention to detail. Strong lateral thinking and ability to independently solve problems.
*Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, database management (Salesforce preferable), email/web
*Basic knowledge and understanding of finance and ability to assess project budgets and viability
*Excellent research and assessment skills, with ability to undertake quality evaluation and monitoring
*Knowledge of Milton Keynes' voluntary, community, and cultural sector and how it enhances the quality of life for people
*Knowledge of Philanthropy activity in meeting donor and member needs
Key responsibilities:
*Complete assessments and produce recommendation reports on small grant applications.
*Process and complete due diligence checks of all grant applications. (e.g. reviewing supporting documents, checking applications are complete)
*Provide database, reporting and campaigning management support.
*Support Philanthropy Managers to produce written reports and occasionally meeting minutes for a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to: reports for grants panels, funds and monitoring.
*Support the Philanthropy Team in conducting research into local and national statistics, local networks and individuals including prospective donors.
*In line with the Philanthropy Delivery plan research and write bids to national trusts and foundations for small scale funding (up to GBP25,000).
*Take responsibility of delivering an impactful bursary programme across a range of subjects.
*Develop and maintain effective communications with other members of staff and grant panel members to maximise the potential of the Foundation's objectives.
*To work collaboratively with colleagues including attending Community Foundation events to ensure effective team working.
*Advise voluntary and community groups in making an application to the Community Foundation small and community grant programmes.
*To undertake any other duties, as required by the Directors of Philanthropy.
