Our client, who is based in the Public Sector, has a requirement for an Correspondence and Assurance Officer. This role is temporary for approx. March 2022, with a possible extension. This role will be home working for the moment, but normally based in Glasgow city centre. The pay rate is GBP16.19 per hour. Hours of work will be 37 hours per week on a Monday to Friday basis.
This role requires a current Disclosure Scotland.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

The post will work across the Division providing correspondence and assurance support and also work in the development and delivery of strategy, policy and associated projects.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the lead and coordinator for First Minister and Parliamentary Questions, and other relevant submissions and briefings.
  • Support the Deputy Director, Head of Programme Assurance and Project Managers to ensure programme assurance and correspondence and activities are on-track and highlight any areas of risk.
  • Manage a programme of training and awareness-raising to ensure assurance to the programme and to foster a data privacy culture across the Division and wider business areas.
  • Supervise and advise on data protection impact assessments relevant to the work of the division.
  • Review and assist with corporate information and knowledge management policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection and records management law.
  • Liaise with Senior Information Risk Owners (SIRO), Corporate Services Representatives and Information Management Support Officers (IMSO) to ensure all aspects of records management and data protection is communicated effectively to colleagues within the division.
  • Provide updates on Programme Assurance to the Seafood Trade Programme Board and Steering Group as and when required.
  • Support the data incident response and data breach notification procedures

Key Skills:
  • Proven work experience in a programme management or similar role with familiarity of PRINCE2 and/or Agile project management methods, as well as risk management, quality assurance control and other project management processes.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to organise workloads with a minimum of supervision, while working to often challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all forms of communication methods and tools, and the ability to build good working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify opportunities to improve management processes or reports and new ways of working.
