Electronics Support and Development Engineer

Purpose of the role:
To provide first-line support for a range of legacy (primarily LabView-based) Automated Electronic Test Equipment.
To concurrently oversee the development of new C#-based Automated Electronic Test Equipment, working with Outsourcing Partners as required, where replacement of existing equipment is considered to be appropriate.
Electronics Development Engineer Key Skills:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer who can:
Identify and implement robust short-term support measures, in a timely manner, to ensure that Test System down-time is minimised.
Identify and implement longer-term improvements to existing Test Systems, where this approach is considered appropriate.
Where Test System replacement is considered to be the most appropriate solution, the Senior Engineer must also be able to:
Draw up a gap analysis between existing system capability and required capability.
Identify improvements required in existing test system/strategy based on analysis of failures.
Analyse the design of a product to determine what will be required for production-level testing.
Draw up replacement /new system specification.
Identify suitable Outsourcing Partners, and work with them to facilitate development of suitable computer-controlled Electronic Test System hardware and Test Program software (C#).
The resultant Test System(s) must be able to automatically determine that each item of product:
Has been built correctly.
Functions correctly.
Strong knowledge of Electronics Theory, experience in the Design and Programming of Automated Electronics Test Systems, and a track-record of identifying and working with trusted Outsourcing Partners are essential for this role.
Qualifications/Education/Certifications:
Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), plus at least significant demonstrated ability and experience in the field of Automated Electronic Test Equipment Development.
Other qualifications may be considered, where a candidate can provide evidence of a skill set that particularly matches the requirements of this role.
