Here at Avantor, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join us at our production site in Reading / Hichrom.
Working Monday to Friday, this role is offered on the late shift (14:15-23:00 Monday-Thursday, 14:15-18:45 on a Friday - perfect finish time for the weekend!
Annual Salary: GBP24,539.66 (including shift allowance)
Reporting to: Laboratory Production Manager
What you'll do on a typical day:
* Working in a laboratory production environment, you will carry out and support the assembly of HPLC Columns to be used in Chromatography procedures
* Undertake process operations under the supervision of a senior member of staff, in accordance with all relevant production procedures and process instructions
* Be responsible for keeping your working area clean, uncontaminated, and organised at all times
* Perform basic routine maintenance and report any issues to the Facilities Manager to minimise instrument downtime.
What you'll need to succeed at Avantor:
* A high level of academic education, particularly English and Maths proficiency
* Ideally, previous experience working in an industrial production or hospitality environment although this is not essential
* The ability to perform linear tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proven experience working efficiently in high pressured environments
Environmental working conditions & Physical effort:
This role is predominantly laboratory-based however some degree of lifting and heavy work is likely with the daily movement of equipment, machinery and supplies.
