A family orientated organisation are recruiting for full or part time Support Worker for their Supportive Living Service in Thornbury, Bristol / South Gloucestershire. There are 5 individual homes which support a total of 29 clients (mainly adults) who have Learning disabilities, Autism and physical disabilities.
Main Job Role:
- The company believes in Steiner approach which allows clients to flourish in their own time using creative ideas (no restraint)
- Being hands on with service users and get them involved in activities like cooking, baking, wood craft, felting, poetry and candle making
- There is also a farm where clients can look after animals and grow their own vegetables
- Support clients with everyday duties i.e. preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, shopping etc
- Service users are pretty active so you will assist them on day trips, walks, drives, bingo, cinema / theatre, visiting families etc
- Help administrate medications - you will be trained
- Most support is 121 but team will work together and share domestic duties
- Prompting personal care
Qualifying candidates:
- Have life, paid, personal or voluntary experience in care (any setting / sector)
- Need your own transport due to location
Contract / Terms:
- Salary is GBP12,350 - GBP20,384 per annum = GBP9.50 - GBP9.80 an hour
- GBP8.91 per hour for sleep ins
- Full or Part time available (25 - 40 hours a week)
- Shift patterns vary from 7:30am starts to 10pm finishes
- 2 week set rota
