Maintenance Technician (Mechanical)

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is maintain the plant to high standard of operational efficiency, increasing uptime and reducing breakdowns of machinery.

Role Description

• Maintain plant and equipment to a high standard

• Follow processes and utilise CMMS for the maintenance program

• Participate in AM/PM and 5S programs

• Propose and develop solutions to make the plant safer, produce better quality product or manufacture more efficiently

• Participate in local CAPEX projects

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of safely maintaining medium to heavy plant

• Good knowledge, experience and skills with workshop equipment, welding, pneumatics and hydraulics

• Ability to plan and organize

• Good communication skills

• Knowledge of Ball mills, Hammer mills, Screening Plant or experience within the Refractory & Minerals industry would be advantageous, but not essential

• Knowledge of health and safety principles

• Basic IT skills particularly CMMS preferred

Qualifications

• Time served apprentice

• BTEC National/NVQ level 3 or equivalent
