An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Lulworth and Bovington Ranges as a Training Area Operative.
As the Training Area Operative, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the military training area and ranges.

This is a flexible role, offering you the opportunity to work around commitments that you already have or it can just be a way of earning some extra money. As a variable hours member of staff we can only guarantee you a minimum of 8 hours a month, and this will usually be early mornings and late evenings and could easily fit in around another job alternatively you may be looking for something to do in your spare time, as this role is very much for someone who enjoys working out on military ranges.

Please be aware this is a variable hours position, Landmarc will only be able to offer you a minimum of 8 hours a month.

Duties of the role:

• Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
• Preventative maintenance
• Grounds maintenance
• Minor forestry and rural maintenance works
• Repairing, operating and maintaining targetry systems
• Equipment testing
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles
• To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work
• Liaise with stakeholders
• Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation
• Housekeeping
• Carry out foot and vehicle patrols of the training area
• Interaction with members of the armed services, assisting with range and training area use
• Interaction with members of the public on the training estate
• Driving 4x4 on recognised tracks on the training estate

What you can do

• Knowledge in H&S such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessment and safe systems of work
• Have an experience as a range/training/military area user (desirable)
• Have a full driver's license valid in the United Kingdom (essential), hold a specialist licenses e.g. HGV, PCV (desirable, but not essential)
• Ability to operate rural plant and machinery (desirable)
• Basic IT skills
• Willingness to undertake training to work in high risk areas

Full training will be provided.
