The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the development of countywide victim and witness strategy and its implementation, to ensure an effective response from all staff to those who are victims or witnesses of crime.

Main responsibilities:

1. To determine recommendations for the constabularies approach to supporting victims, exploring different options;

2. To identify and develop future funding opportunities and support any subsequent commissioning process;

3. Ensure that the Constabulary understands the quality of service that is being provided to victims based on effective management information;

4. To coordinate, interpret and share data amongst those delivering services in the county in relation to victim and witness support;

5. Develop and implement an improvement plan for the Constabulary based on the NPCC Victim and Witness Strategic Action Plan;

6. Prepare reports as required for the NPCC Victims and Witnesses Governance Group, associated, Multi-Agency Group (MAG) and relevant partnerships;

7. Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive training plan for victim and witness support and victim code compliance;

8. In addition, work with the OPCC to ensure countywide VCOP compliance for all agencies;

9. To improve overall awareness of victim, witness support and restorative justice and promote access to the services available to support victims and members of the public;

10. Ensure service users have a "voice" that influences continuous improvement
