Systems Engineer - Windows Server - VMware - Guildford GBP55-60k
Due to large scale growth and key investment with IT and infrastructure, my client a leading name within pre employment checks and testing/certification are currently looking to recruit a number of Systems Engineer
This role will be based in their Key office in central Guildford and will offer a hybrid home/office working approach.
The Systems Engineer role is key to ensuring that systems are robust, secure and well designed. This role involves ensuring that server infrastructure and associated systems of the International business run smoothly and reliably in order to provide a secure and stable platform for business operations.
This opportunity would suit an experienced engineer who is looking to take a leading role in designing and building solutions. This role requires an individual who thrives in a changing environment and is able to adapt their approach and recommendations to fit. They will need to provide examples of complex engineering projects they have successfully delivered. This candidate should have the ability to train and mentor other team members and act as a high-level escalation point for projects and trouble issues.
Core Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer role is primarily responsible for:
*Design, install, configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure hardware and software for across the clients global business, including physical Servers, SANs, VM solutions, blades, disaster recovery, etc.
*Deliver solutions in a timely manner in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
*Swift and effective diagnosis and resolution of technical issues to ensure maximum uptime across a complex organisation
*Provide input into the company's infrastructure strategy for the direction and implementation of future technology and technical standards.
*Perform complex analysis of hardware and software configurations to ensure audit and regulatory compliance.
Role Requirements
*6+ Years' Experience in System Engineer role.
*An in depth understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including all versions of Windows server from 2008 to 2019.
*Detailed knowledge of core server technologies and domain configuration and management, including DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, SMTP, and SSL.
*Experience in Domain Trusts, Active Directory Federation.
*Good understanding of SAN architecture and implementation
*Experience in managing remote infrastructure across multiple timezones
*Detailed understanding of VMWare and Hyper-V technologies
*Excellent knowledge of Office 365 security/migration/integration
*Experience with implementing and maintaining VOIP phone systems
*Expertise in SQL, endpoint management systems (eg SCCM, Ivanti, etc.), CRM, and O365.
*Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
*Effective interpersonal and customer support skills
*Ability to write clear technical documentation and correspondence and present complex information in an easy to read format
