We’re now looking for an Employability Advisor to source, work with and provide employability support with unemployed clients and Job Centre Plus and the Departments of Work and Pensions, to enable individuals and prospective students to obtain and sustain employment. You will provide effective and flexible support for ad hoc business tasks and events, such as those linked to enrolment, progression and admissions, and to report on the engagement of numbers of the work undertaken to the Head of School and Group Managers.

We’re looking for an individual who holds a recognised qualification in Advice & Guidance or Careers Advice (DCG part 1 & 2, QCG or NVQ Level 4) and who has experience of providing careers information, advice and guidance to unemployed individuals and groups. Your experience will include advising and guiding clients in progression to employment including job searching and writing CV’s and personal statements.

With excellent communication skills, you will be able to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of learners and colleagues, liaise with employers, employment agencies, colleges, universities and other organisations offering opportunities to learners. You should have knowledge of occupational areas and progression routes into further/higher education, training and employment, and have successful experience of planning and delivering careers education group work and events to a range of audiences.
