Procurement Officer

Pure are pleased to be recruiting a Procurement Officer to join a fantastic client of ours based in Essex, this role requires experience within a procurement environment and the ability to problem solve, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and a positive 'can do' attitude.

The Role

Assisting the Procurement Manager to deliver high value tender exercises through research, analysis and managing communication with suppliers
Leading project teams to identify requirements, drafting tender documents and running the tender excise through to successful completion and award
Being directly responsible for awarding contracts through established public sector framework
Ensuring the savings targets are delivered
Undertaking research and analysis to inform the development of innovative Procurement strategies
Providing recommendations and feedback to the Procurement Manager on collaborative procurement opportunities and potential frameworks
Supporting and assisting with the development of policies and procedures as the Procurement function develops with the aim to ensure the Procurement function if fully compliance and meets audit regulations
Processing new supplier requests in the finance system
Managing the communication with existing and potential suppliers
Reviewing existing contracts and processes to identity areas where efficiencies or service improvements can be made

Required Skills

Educated to CIPS Level 3 or equivalent
Experience of working in a procurement role
Basic understanding of Public Sector procurement
Commitment towards ongoing personal development
Excellent IT Skills
Ability to organise and set priorities
Ability to cope under pressure displaying calm and patience
