Quality Assurance, Health and Safety Compliance Manager

Location: Histon, Cambridge CB24 9ZR - Work from home and any of our offices in this hybrid role. 

Spot Salary: £39,847.89 per annum

Contract: Permanent, 35 hpw

CHS is a well established and respected housing association working across Cambridgeshire. We have 2,500 homes and various specialist services including two children’s nurseries and two residential care homes.

 

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Compliance Manager who will oversee the Health and Safety Management System for the whole of CHS.

 

The role allows you to work from home with travel to our offices and sites as required. These are all in or close to Cambridgeshire.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the competent person for CHS Group. Ensure that CHS Group is compliant to UK health and safety and fire safety legislation, providing specialist Health &Safety advice to staff members to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation alongside developing and maintaining the Health and Safety management framework across the organisation.
  • Responsible for the on-going development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality assurance framework (QAF) and associated systems to assure the quality of  services delivered across Operations teams.
  • Health and safety risk management. This will include being proactive in the interpretation of planned and new Health and Safety/Fire regulation and the impact on the business. 

 

There is no team to manage and the role reports directly to the Operations Director. The postholder must therefore be self-motivated and able to work flexibly and across all of the CHS teams.

 

The role will require:

  • Member of IOSH at TechIOSH level or above (essential)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (essential)
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate (essential)
  • An understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements with respect to the provision of one or more of the following; Social Housing, older peoples services, supported housing and children’s nurseries
  • Knowledge and experience of using tools, concepts and methodologies and current best practice of Quality Assurance

 

Ideally, experience of working in a similar role within Social Housing
