Our client is a grassroots movement of 850,000 members, 38,000 volunteers and 2,800 staff across the UK. They have a vision of land and seas rich in wildlife with people close to nature.
As part of addressing the combined climate and nature crisis it is no longer enough to just think about slowing the loss of the natural world and protecting what remains of their wildlife. We need to stop and reverse the declines, and put nature in recovery to help restore biodiversity, stabilise the climate, ensure food security, protect the health and wellbeing of billions of people, and much more besides.
This will only happen when local communities are supported and empowered to make their own positive change for wildlife. The recovery of nature must not be something that is done to people; it needs to be done by people - inclusive, welcoming, diverse, growing communities of people - if it's going to happen at the scale and pace required to make a difference.
With our client firmly rooted in, supported by, and accountable to their local communities, they are looking for an experienced Community Organising Manager for their strategically transformational initiative Team Wilder.
Working collectively across 46 independent trusts that form their federated movement of grass roots charities, this role is critical in building their approach in how they help communities take local action, building a collective impact, as part of a global story.
As part of this job, you can expect to be using your experience to help establish a refreshed approach to community organising in line with our client's strategy. You will be supporting their community outreach specialists in establishing groups within their own trusts, identifying best practice and fostering a learning environment across their network. You will lead on implementing approaches that minimise repetition across trusts through sharing of resources, experience and approaches. You will over-see how they measure and evaluate their impact in achieving Nature's Recovery through a people powered approach.
You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be organised, resourceful and an excellent networker and support to fellow colleagues.
Our client values courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility. Whilst they are passionate in promoting their aims, they are not judgemental, and they are inclusive.
Our client wants their people to be as diverse as nature, so they particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within their sector, including people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities. They are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities.
As a Disability Confident employer, they are committed to offering an interview to anyone with a disability that meets all the essential criteria for the post. Please let us know if you require any adjustments to make their recruitment process more accessible.
