Management Accountant at The NSS Group
Part of NSS Maintenance
Salary GBP35k-GBP40k dependent on experience
Location - Leeds or Hale

Our team of directly employed operatives is the UK's No.1 market leader and the only truly nationwide window and specialist cleaning provider. With a regional management structure in support and a central service desk we are uniquely positioned to deliver services on both a planned and reactive basis.
To us, no window, no location and no scale of project is out of reach.
We've tailored our approach to each of the sectors we operate within and when it comes to cleaning at height, our aim is to work as safely and efficiently as possible. NSS has the expertise and experience to provide any combination of rope access / abseiling, water-fed pole systems, truck-mounted access platforms or cradle systems. All delivered in-house to maximize control and improve service delivery.
The Finance Business Partner is a new role acting as a hybrid between commercial business units and finance. The role will be responsible for creation, reporting and distribution of all financial information and performance reporting.
Main Purpose of role:
The role has been created initially to provide maternity cover for the NSS Maintenance Finance Business Partner but given the forecasted growth of the business in the next 12 months, it is likely that this will become a permanent role within the NSS Group. The Management accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of all financial information as required by the business in respect of NSS Maintenance.
Your job will include:
* Full responsibility for month end management accounts preparation including Profit & loss, Cashflow and balance sheet reporting of results for NSS Maintenance, prepared in accordance with UK GAAP.
* Preparation of the monthly results and KPIs for Board pack reporting.
* Monthly preparation/ review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that assets are accurate and exist and liabilities are complete.
* Monthly preparation/ review of profit and loss account sheet reconciliations where applicable to ensure that income and expenditure can be verified to primary sources of data from other non-financial systems used within the business.
* Working with Operations and Sales senior management to ensure accurate monthly results
* Ensure that the business is compliant with its Invoice Discounting facility duties and responsibilities.
* Improve and apply processes and controls across the finance function on a recurring basis.
* Internal audit projects as and when control/ process deficiencies are identified as risks.
* Ensure that regular (at least weekly) Bank and Invoice Discounting account reconciliations are accurately completed
* Ensure that intercompany accounts within sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.
* Maintain the fixed asset and related financing registers
* Maintain the chart of nominal accounts in accordance with group reporting requirements
* Management and development of Assistant Finance Business Partners during the maternity cover phase, ensuring that they reach their personal and business development objectives.
* Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions and business processes
* Year end audit preparation and compliance with audit requests.
* Preparation of management information and ad hoc analysis to the Operations Director, Senior Sales team and CFO as required.
* Support the production of the annual budget and forecasts
* Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
* Preparation of monthly CIS returns and responsibility for CIS compliance
* Work closely with the Operations Director to develop and control integrated Operations and Finance processes
