Up for a challenge? Experienced leading local media communications?
Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is looking for Regional Communications Lead to manage communications and stakeholder engagement within the Cumbria Working Groups (and future Community Partnerships), as communities explore the possibility of hosting a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for the long-term management of radioactive waste in the UK.
Additionally, you will manage:
* Local media relations (press office, press releases, interview management)
* Stakeholder engagement - on-going engagement with stakeholders, proactively booking in briefings and producing materials, preparing responses to inquiries
* Production of regular reports for the Working Group (e.g., covering measurement of the effectiveness of media relations, forward plans)
* Content generation - copy writing for digital and print channels, commission photography / print / design
* Proactive digital media management - including updating the specific Working Group website, posting scheduled content on Working Group social media channels
* Media handling for WG Chair/spokespeople (managing requests/interviews)
* Development and management of monthly WG E-newsletter
This is not just a job, but rather a long-term career and would suit you whether you are early on in the communication field or ready for a new change.
You will be a key player in the Working Group (or future Community Partnership) team, as you will manage press and social media releases in the area, so copy-writing skills are essential. Experience of working on complex projects/issues will also be advantageous. Within this, you will understand local media as well as local/regional government and the political landscape.
RWM is growing. With an organisation that is to grow from 200 people to 400+ people over the next 4 years, your responsibilities will expand with it. As a result, this role offers you the opportunity to develop both your skill set and your career.
The money's great. The base salary is competitive with a range of GBP39,978- GBP47,556 + and an annual bonus (up to 30%), 30 days of annual leave (with public holidays on top) and one of the most generous pensions currently available in the UK (Civil Service Alpha Pension Scheme).
They're not just about 9-5. Your life outside of work is important to RWM and so they welcome conversations about flexibility to help you meet both personal and professional commitments.
