Our client has a vacancy for a HR/Learning and Development Officer. This role is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.
Main Purpose
* Contribute to the delivery of the HR strategy, supporting the Company vision of 'enhancing the employee experience at work and beyond'
* To ensure compliance with legislation and provide a confidential and effective HR service to stakeholders, managers and employees alike
* Supporting the Head of L&D in administering and managing our L&D offering across the business
* Supporting the HR team in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
Role
Assist with the provision of advice to managers on employment matters and working with them to resolve employee issues and proactive recommendations in a timely and constructive manner
Supporting recruitment activities including: identifying upcoming recruitment demands; advertising; providing shortlisting documentation; organisation of assessments and interviews and related pre-employment risk assessment practices
Contribute to the delivery of training and development programmes in line with business strategy and organisation needs
Coordinating and undertaking exit interviews
Co-ordinate and support the maternity leave process, administration, calculations and pre-leave and returner interviews
Co-ordinating and supporting managers with probationary and performance management processes
Monitoring, analysing and reporting on employee sickness, and supporting line managers in taking appropriate, preventative and reactive measures to ensure that absence is minimised
Providing frequent periodical management reports on topics such as absence, retention and diversity
Support the disciplinary, capability and grievance processes as required, in conjunction with the HR Business Partners, to ensure that formal and informal processes are applied consistently and effectively
Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
Build strong working relationships at all levels to influence and engage employees
Contribute to the equality and diversity strategy
Review and draft policies, ensuring they are up to date and represent an employer of choice brand
Support the HR GDPR Champion with implementation of best practice
Co-ordinate and support from an HR compliance perspective, first line investigations for disciplinary, grievance and performance matters. Ensuring early intervention and manager coaching is consistent with the ER agenda.
Administer Development Planning and review cycle by working with managers to ensure all parts of this process are completed and recorded through Aspire/Ingenium
Report on the outputs from Aspire to help shape development needs and actions plans for employees
Own and administer the annual compliance renewal. Ensuring the modules are completed and recorded within the system
Own and publish the development calendar and communications to employees to highlight what development opportunities are available
Requirements
* CPP / CIPD Level 5, working toward or equivalent qualification
* Previous generalist experience in a HR Officer / Assistant / Advisor capacity
* Experience of managing first line ER matters with minimal supervision
* Strong planning, coordination and organizational skills
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools in a 365 environment especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Working knowledge of HRIS systems
* Tact and diplomacy to work with confidential information and build relationships
* Initiative and drive; continuously improve processes and deliver against agreed objectives
* Ability to make decisions on, and appropriately escalate, varying first level ER cases
* Multi-tasking experience in a fast-paced environment, completing work tasks with speed and accuracy in a detailed work environment.
* Excellent organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to engage with colleagues at all levels.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Proven track record of delivering excellent service to customers and stakeholders at all times
* A strong team player with an excellent attitude and professional character
* Excellent communication and a solutions-focussed approach to problem solving
