My client on the Essex / Suffolk Border is currently recruiting for a Delivery Driver / Customer Service Representative. This role is initially working on a 4-month contract, but a permanent opportunity could be available for an outstanding candidate.
You will be a customer driven person, who thrives on dealing with people daily.
The ideal applicant will be well presented, come from an agricultural or similar background with previous customer service experience and be a confident driver. Previous delivery driving experience would be a distinct advantage.
Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills will be required to ensure that time is used most efficiently during the busy seasonal periods and prepping, and maintenance work is completed during the quieter winter months.
A clean Full UK driving licence is essential.
Duties will include;
Managing goods in.
Stock control and rotation.
Daily use of Counterbalance Forklift
Picking orders for deliveries and loading the van.
Planning the most efficient route based on deliveries.
Ensuring the vans are clean, inside and out ready for the day ahead.
Driving a 3.5ton Van.
Delivering goods to customer sites through Eastern England (up to 15 drops a day).
Making sure every customer you meet has an extra-ordinary experience.
The candidate;
Excellent customer service/people skills.
Able to lift loads up to 25kgs.
Confident driving vans.
"Can do attitude" with a friendly, approachable personality.
Able to work on your own and part of a team.
Experience of agriculture or a similar industry.
Proven ability to solve problems
A current Counterbalance Forklift licence is preferred.
Experience in the Agriculture Industry would be an advantage
As well as previous experience with Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
This is a rare role, where you get to drive, mainly around rural England instead of busy A and M routes, delivering to farms and agricultural business.
Offering real opportunities for growth and promotion and on-going training including, Industry Standard Stores Keeper Training, Manual Handling, First Aid, Fire Safety and ADR.
Hours of work will vary, and earlier starts are required during the busy seasons, with the off set of shorter days during the off season period.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
