Amplifi Talent are working in partnership with rapidly growing and exciting business in Edinburgh who are looking to hire a Group Senior Finance Analyst to their busy Group Reporting function. The business has been involved in a number of high profile acquisitions which has allowed it to expand further afield whilst also heavily diversifying its revenue streams to deal with customer demand. Key to this growth will be the appointment of a Group Senior Finance Analyst who will have significant involvement in the monthly management accounting and annual statutory accounts processes whilst also providing analysis and insight to support key decision making across the business and producing various reports including the monthly regional managers report.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

Financial reporting and control

* Preparation of month end reporting for management and Board

* Monthly reconciliation of more complex balance sheet accounts e.g. stock.

* Undertaking routine month end tasks, such as posting journals, reviewing individual P&Ls for mis-postings and actioning journal corrections where required.

* Preparation, monitoring and reporting of key business and financial controls within the business.

* Responsible for the year-end stock take accounting process.

* Supporting the Finance Managers with corporation tax and VAT queries.

* Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets

* Coordinating audit requests during the audit process and acting as a contact for the auditors.

* Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets

Providing support to the wider financial reporting and control team

* Encouraging the Finance Analysts to think proactively about continuous improvement of the month end reporting process.

* Supporting the professional development of the Finance Analysts through mentoring.

* Monthly review of reconciliations undertaken by Finance Analysts, providing feedback on improvements where required.

* Coordinating the Finance Analysts to ensure all national statistics reporting is undertaken on a timely and accurate basis.

Candidate requirements

* Qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA) with a strong technical accounting skillset

* Advanced Excel skills

* Experience with mentoring/managing a team.

* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

* Strong planning, prioritisation, presentation and problem-solving skills. You'll need to be comfortable managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

* Strong interpersonal skills - you will be building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.

* Excellent written and communication skills
