Job Description

Restaurant staff will have patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role. The right Waiter/Waitress uplifts the dining experience for our Guests. The main responsibilities of our clients restaurant are as follows:

* Greeting and serving guests with food and drinks as required.

* Talk to guests about the menu and drinks, and recommend possible combinations

* Take customers' orders and pass them to kitchen staff or bar assistants

* Clear tables of dirty dishes, cutlery and glasses in a timely manner when guests have finished eating or drinking, and return to kitchen wash up area.

* Ensure your tasks are completed as guided by the Restaurant Manager.

* Work as a team with other staff in the dining room, and effectively be able to communicate with the Kitchen staff.

* To serve up to 28 guests per station at the Restaurant Managers discretion. Dining room staff may from time to time be moved from one station to another for the good running of the restaurant. No staff member will have a right to work a particular area of tables or a station.

* To wear appropriate uniform provided, along with flat non slip shoes. Strictly no trainers.

* Make sure your section is clean and tidy and reset for the next session using clean and undamaged glasses or cutlery and plateware

* Any other reasonable related task as guided by the Restaurant Manager.

* Be accurate and courteous at all times.

* Attend Training and Refresher Training sessions, as required by the hotel management.

* Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment.

* If you become concerned about any aspect of your employment that may effect yours or other people's performance, you have a duty to report your concerns to the higher hotel management.

* Take note of the absence reporting procedure in your workplace and adhere to the policy, this greatly assists the Hotel Management and also your colleagues.

Restaurant Staff Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will possess some or all of the below qualities, training will be provided but it will assist us if you have a basic understanding of the role.

Essential Attributes

* Able to demonstrate that you have the relevant experience in the role.

* Be attentive and patient

* Ability to multi-task and not lose performance level under pressure

* Active listening and effective communication skills

Desired Attributes

?? Hold a current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

?? Any post mainstream education qualification relevant to the role.

Hours of Work

Restaurant Staff: Split shifts - Morning shift - 7:45 - 10:30 and then Evening shift - 17:45 - 20:30 - These are the times for best practise but often we go over these time so circa 6 to 8 hours a day
