Product Manager Needed for British Energy Company in Edinburgh

Location: Flexible - commutable to Edinburgh

Where will you be working?

You'll be working within the heating business: helping to offer a range of services around insurance, servicing, and installation through a UK-wide network of trusted, local heating engineers. You'll be part of a huge opportunity to decarbonise heating for members in order to become the leader of energy insurance and installation of carbon saving products with big ambitions to grow the current 360,000-member base.

It's an exciting time for Home Services; several new brands are combining and are investing significantly in new digital experiences and technology platforms. With a new system which runs the business side, you'll be helping to put customers, colleagues, and heating engineers at the centre of product decisions.

What will you be doing?

This permanent role is key to helping revamp the customer payments journeys and associated finance business processes and reporting. You'll join the team responsible for building out a new payments platform and will work closely with Home Services colleagues and those across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

. As the Product Manager for the Finance team, you'll be working on ensuring the smooth integration of the new payments provider whilst maintaining accurate billing and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
. Your mission is to ensure Home Services is compliant, financially credible and trusted by all customers and service providers enabled by accurate financial systems and processes.
. You'll love this role if you enjoy spending regular time as a cross-functional team with your end users to co-create the best agent experiences possible.
. You will be continually pushing the boundaries of the heating insurance industry and technology to enable Home Services to provide award-winning customer service.
. The successful candidate will need to show a real passion for understanding a wide range of complex problems for members, heating engineers and regulatory bodies and working with their teams to deliver simple and innovative solutions.

Is this the job for you?

Ideally you will:

. Be knowledgeable in customer-focused lean product development at different stages of the product life cycle (min 5 years' experience)
. Be a product manager working within autonomous, cross-functional product teams in environments that embrace and promote agile ways of working
. Have knowledge of customer billing journeys and processes would be desirable
. Enjoy working day to day with engineers and UX solving complex challenges
. Be outcome focused and data-driven individual
. Be passionate about working alongside retail brands to understand and solve the complex challenges they face
. Be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders specifically with finance and operation teams.
. Be comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing business and market needs
. Be keen to use analytical and quantitative skills, able to cut through opinions with data
. Be excited by challenging the status quo and finding new and better ways to solve member problems
