What will you be doing?

You'll join the Life Science section of our Laboratory working 10.5 hours per day on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Our Laboratory Analysts work in a time critical, process driven environment in order to receive, analyse and report analytical data on water samples, in accordance with the quality assurance procedures of the laboratory.

As a Laboratory Analyst, you will become a crucial member of the team and will work within the quality system to ensure timely turnaround of results.

You'll be involved in all aspects of testing and quality activities within the laboratory. Your daily duties will include the analysis of a variety of water samples for the required regulatory compliance in different analytical disciplines. Working alongside other Analysts within the team you will communicate effectively with other areas of the business, our Customers. You will also be involved in media preparation and equipment maintenance.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute towards continuous improvement, take on a variety of scientific challenges and gain an exciting array of experience as you meet them.

As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • 23 days annual leave - rising with length of service

  • Competitive pension scheme - Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%

  • Flexible working

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.

What does it take to be a Laboratory Analyst?

  • With a relevant degree (or equivalent) and a strong interest in Life Science, you'll have both the technical understanding and passion for science to make this a great start to your career in which you'll receive full training.

  • You'll ideally have practical experience of following policies and procedures and working in a regulated laboratory with ISO17025 accreditation.

  • There will be an expectation for you to work using your own initiative and take a common sense approach to tasks. You should also be adaptable and be able to prioritise work.

  • Flexibility is also crucial to this role as adjustment to sample number and variety may be required, there may be times when over time is required.

Opportunities are open to all suitably qualified candidates.
