We currently have an exciting opportunity as our Area Forestry Manager - West/North Scotland. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team.
Iggesund Paperboard is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our client's customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. We value our employees and products highly. Today we are approximately 320 co-workers. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.
Since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic our Mill has continued to operate at full production capacity supplying into, amongst others, the food, and pharmaceutical packaging supply chain. Our employees are classified as critical workers and we remain an essential industry. We are proud of the measured way in which our employees have continued operations, keeping the safety of their colleagues and our customers central to their actions.
About the Area Forestry Manager role:
Sourcing the best quality yet sustainable raw material for our manufacturing operation is central to the quality of our finished product. A level of quality that we are proud of and renowned for.
The successful Area Forestry Manager will join an experienced team responsible for coordinating territories and ensuring that national legislation, safety and environmental guidelines are adhered.
Working remotely you will locate both standing and felled timber from sustainably managed forests. Developing relationships with timber and haulage contractors within the territory is integral to this exciting and autonomous role.
What we're looking for in our Area Forestry Manager:
- Degree level forestry qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience of managing harvesting operations, organising transport and trading with forestry supply chain
- Appropriate training in both working environment and health and safety
- Knowledge of the forestry industry and related organisations
- Commercially astute and be familiar with environment and certification within forestry
