We have big goals over the next few years.

We’re going to be fighting for mental health in a way we never have before.

Together we’ll be working to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.

Will you join us?

Who we need:

You’ll need to have extensive knowledge of mental health; including demonstrable knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • children and young people’s mental health
  • issues that affect young people’s wellbeing
  • mental health services for young people
  • the secondary education system.

You also need to have experience in writing or producing public facing information or resources, specifically for young people, that are useful, accessible and clear. To do this, we need you to be able to use clinical and academic studies in your research and background work, as well as be being able to respectfully and thoughtfully engage with lived experience research. At Mind, we place equal value on the lived experiences of people with mental health problems as an evidence source.

About this role:

You will be responsible for providing information about young people’s mental health to external and internal audiences, ensuring that any information is correct, up-to-date and meets our standards for quality accreditation.

You will produce information resources for young people experiencing mental health problems and their families, making sure they are accurate, accessible and meet Mind’s guidelines.

You will be part of the Information team in Mind’s External Relations department and responsible to the Senior Editorial Officer (Young People). The Information Team provides an information resource to Mind’s networks, local Minds, Mind staff, Mind’s Infoline and to the general public. You will also support other teams within Mind, to ensure they have access to reliable information.

Sometimes our work can have hard deadlines or priorities can change. Being able to manage your time, and flex between working autonomously and collaboratively is expected. Being flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic about trying new things will help you succeed in this role.

About the team:

We’re a warm and friendly team, serious about our work and passionate about supporting one another. Our team culture is supportive and inclusive, and we make time for light-hearted fun. Vacancies within our team are comparatively rare and we’re excited to welcome a new person.

If all the above sounds interesting to you, we can't wait to hear from you!

Closing Date: 19th August 2021

Mind reserve the right to close the vacancy to applications earlier, should we receive a high volume of strong candidates – therefore we encourage an early application.

This position will initially, in line with current and potentially future guidance, be based from home. Post lockdown this role will retain some flexibility but post holders will be expected to be in the office a minimum of two days thereafter (or more, depending on the arrangements of your team).

Mind is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff, and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

Please refer to the Job Description while completing your application as candidates will be shortlisted based on how closely they match the criteria.
