Vital Energi continues to produce energy efficient heat and power systems and consumption reduction solutions with long term cost benefits for clients in a broad range of markets including Healthcare, Education, Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Local Authority. Vital Energi has also started to build its first Waste to Energy plant at a site in Drakelow, Derbyshire.

The Opportunity:
Vital Energi Utilities Limited (VEUL) is one of the UK's market leaders in delivering centralised community energy projects. As a result of our continuing success we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors; as such we have an exceptional opportunity for a Proposals Manager (Infrastructure) based at our Head Office at Blackburn within our Estimating - District Heating Function. Whilst the role is based at the Head Office, travel across the UK to working sites will be required in-line with work demands and requirements.

The Role:

The purpose of the role is to prepare and present accurate prime cost estimates for a variety of District Heating projects to be made on behalf of the company, to meet company quality management and other system standards and requirements as they may be prescribed from time to time, to meet set deadlines and compliant in all respects with the provisions of the client requirement and/ or otherwise defined by the company where alternatives may be offered.

To coordinate with the Pre-Construction Manager, ensuring that all PQQs and tenders are submitted in a timely fashion, with the highest levels of quality. Provide assistance in the delivery of pre-tender and tender submissions and any other sales documentation (such as powerpoint presentations etc).

Manage the company CRM system (Zoho), being the point of contact for all departments that wish to engage the services of the Infrastructure department; ensure it is being used properly and kept up-to-date, generate monthly sales and board report information. Develop new workflows to maximise sales pipeline tracking and reporting company wide.

To provide efficient administration and assistance in the delivery of pre-tender and tender submissions and monitoring of the sales mailbox, distributing emails, downloading documents and providing responses, to and from the business units, as required via e-portals.

To be responsible for the preparation and timely submission of all proposals tendered by the company including the resourcing and management of department processes and staff to ensure that accurate and complete good quality estimates are prepared to meet demand, in accordance with company procedures; optimising opportunity for profit improvement and at the same time maximising commercial advantage relative to competitors.

The Person:

Education:

A good standard of academic attainment (preferably A - B grades) at both GCSE and A level (desirable). Specifically including GCSE English Language.

Qualifications:

APMP Foundation Level (desirable)

Knowledge:

??A minimum of 5 years' experience of tendering, estimating and bid management

??Previous experience in leading the submission of proposals

??Previous experience of liaising and managing inter department contribution

??Previous experience of presenting proposals to prospective clients

??Previous experience in undertaking site visits with internal & sub-contract representatives

??PC Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

??Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work as a team leader

??Exceptional organisational and administrative skills

??The ability to prioritise own workload as well as that of others

??A Willingness to work outside normal hours when necessary to get the job done

??Ability to read engineering drawings

??Good understanding of principles of design & build

??Strong negotiation skills

??A high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy

??Confident manner, with ability to work to deadlines, whilst remaining focussed

??A full UK driving licence

??Design experience/creative flair
