Position: Production Operative
Location: Ellesmere Port
Hours: Monday-Friday (days)
Salary: GBPDOE
Purpose
This position will be a supporting role for the Team Leader. This role will involve the fabrication/assembly of hoses, hose testing, certification, and hoses database management. This role will also include the conversion of gasket sheeting to cut gaskets using methods including ATOM knife cutting and die form cutting on a Samco beam press. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring goods meet industry standards and customer requirements (including packaging specifications etc).
Key Tasks
Organize resources to ensure that deliverable are completed to customers' and company expectations in terms of quality and schedule adherence.
Assist in the creation of a safe and efficient working environment by supporting improvement activities.
Maintain and improve the 5's programme
Works according to standards and support the optimisation of new work practises setting new standards
Skills / Abilities
Team player
Good positive communication skills
Leads by example
Must be able to work on own initiative and without supervision
Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
Computer literacy a distinct advantage - use of QAD system and Office packages will be required. Training will be provided as required.
Tig welding (not essential)
Knowledge of hose assembly and manufacture (not essential)
Ability to work to deadlines.
